By the time some facts came to light, international terrorist Dawood Ibrahim’s Death was almost confirmed. This is not the first time that he has died; attempts have been made to kill him many times on social media. Let’s see what happened this time.
For the last few days, social media has been completely filled with the news of the death of international terrorist Dawood, popularly known as Don. Most journalists and news agencies have already covered this clueless story as fact.
According to social media shares, international terrorist Dawood Ibrahim was poisoned by some unknown person. Don was admitted to a hospital in Karachi, Pakistan, where he ultimately died on December 18. Unfortunately, this news was nothing more than rumors.
Origin of rumors of Dawood Ibrahim’s death
Rumors of the death of India’s most wanted terrorist, Dawood Ibrahim, started spreading on December 17 in Pakistan. Initially, the rumors were not so strong, but soon, they got support from some social media creators and became popular. The very next day, on December 18, a screenshot claiming to confirm Dawood Ibrahim’s Death began circulating on the Internet.
The screenshot was a post by Pakistan’s caretaker prime minister, Unwaar Ul Had Kakar. The content in the screenshot was “The Messiah of humanity, dear to every Pakistani heart, our beloved His Excellency Dawood Ibrahim passed away due to poisoned by unknown. He breathed his last in a hospital in Karachi. May Allah grant him the highest position in Jannat. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”
The screenshot spread like a fire in the forest and soon became a sensation across the borders. By the morning of December 18, people started creating different theories. Some people shared their theories, putting religion in the center, and wrote that the don had been killed by a non-Muslim. At the same time, some said that India killed their most wanted.
Fact Behind the Dawood Ibrahim’s Death
The Internet was shut down in Pakistan on December 17. Since the Pakistani government, as usual, did not tell its villagers any reason for the shutdown, people started creating their own theories. Pakistani media also fueled the theories by stating that something big was happening.
The screenshot of the Pakistan caretaker Prime Minister’s tweet added fuel to the speculations. However, when we checked Kakar’s X account, we did not get any such tweet. We also reviewed his fan accounts to know if any fan has taken up the responsibility of his PM. Our team also returned empty-handed from the fan account.
After doing considerable research, Viral Infos believed that the screenshot was an artwork created by some social media artists. However, we also found some discrepancies in the screenshot, like the surname of Pakistan’s PM being miswritten.
Internet shutdown in Pakistan
Even though we cannot claim Dawood’s death, we can say that the Internet was shut down in Pakistan. As per specific reports, the internet shutdown was taken by the Pakistan government to limit the access and circulation of videos of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s virtual rally.
