GT vs PBKS: Punjab Wins in a Nail-Biting Clash

GT vs PBKS was one of the closest and most exciting matches of TATA IPL 2024. The camel never sat on a specific side at any point in time. However, in the end, lucky Punjab Kings won the battle with three wickets. 

Shubhman Gill’s superfast 89-run innings went unnoticed against the collective efforts of the Punjab Kings. Youngster Shashank Singh played a crucial and match-winning innings for PBKS and stole the victory from GT. 

GT vs PBKS Highlights 

GT and PBKS played the 17th match of TATA IPL 2024 in the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat. While playing first, the Gujarat Titans gave the Punjab Kings a solid target of 200 runs. 

Captain Shubman Gill scored a fast and crucial 89 runs in just 48 balls. He hit four towering sixes and six boundaries in his innings. With 33 runs, Sai Sudarshan was Gujarat’s second-highest scorer. 

Rabada took two crucial wickets for Punjab Kings in his four-over spell. He sent W Saha and Vijay Shankar back to the pavilion. 

In response, Punjab won the GT vs PBKS match in the last over with three wickets in hand. Even after the top order’s flop show, Punjab’s middle order batsmen, especially Shashank Singh, took their team to the 20th over and won the match as well. 

Shashank scored 61 crucial runs for his team, hitting four sixes and six fours. Ashutosh Sharma also complimented him and played 31 runs match-winning innings for his team. 

Noor Ahmed got a maximum of two wickets for his team. He hunted dangerous Jonny Bairstow and Prabhsimran Singh. 

Match Summary 

Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings were facing off in the 17th match of TATA IPL 2024. Punjab Kings won the toss in Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Punjab skipper Shikhar Dhawan opted to bowl first after winning the toss. 

Captain Shubman Gill and W Saha came to open for home team Gujarat. Saha and Gill gave their team a fast start. However, unfortunately, Saha lost his wicket early against Rabada. Saha scored just 11 runs at 13 balls with two boundaries. 

Williamson and Gill, after losing the first wicket, tried to build a partnership. They did it pretty well and did not lose any wickets until the 9th over. However, Williamson went back after scoring 26 of 22 with four boundaries. 

Sai Sudharsan then assisted his captain well and took their team to 122 runs without losing any more wickets. Sudharsan scored 33 runs after facing 19 balls, with six fours. 

Shubhman Gill kept one side busy and secure while the new man on crease, Vijay Shankar, did not assist him well. Vijay went back after scoring just eight runs on ten balls. Dangerous Tewatia played a fast innings of 23 runs off just eight balls. He hit one sky-high six and three boundaries. 

Gill went not out after smashing 89 runs off 48 balls. His innings were decorated with four sixes and six fours. 

Punjab Batting 

Even though Punjab won the GT vs PBKS match, their performance was pretty disappointing. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan lost his wicket in the second over of their innings. Dhawan went back after scoring 1 run on 2 balls. Jonny and Prabhsimran, after Dhawan’s dismissal, took charge. 

When Punjab was at 48, they got another blow in the form of Bairstow who lost his wicket after scoring 22. He played 13 balls and smashed four fours in his entire innings. New man, Sam Curran, could not do something good for his team. 

He followed Prabhsimran, who went back to the dressing room at score of 35 runs. Sam scored only five runs after facing eight balls. Sikandar Raza and Shashank Singh with their fast but calculated shots, tried to balance the innings. 

Intimate Scene Was not Awkward for the Mother-Son – Elizabeth

They took their team to above the score of 100 runs. Sikandar got out in the 13th over after scoring 15 runs on 16 balls. Jitesh Sharma also went back after scoring 16 runs on eight balls, hitting two fours. 

Shashank kept one end safe and took his team to an unexpected win with Harpreet Brar in the GT vs PBKS. Shashank scored fast 61 runs after facing 29 balls.
