Ahead of the Paris Olympics starting on July 26, 2024, India has received exciting news. Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani has been re-elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). This announcement brings great joy to India.
The IOC announced Nita Ambani’s re-election on July 24. She received unanimous support, securing her position as an IOC member from India once again. Nita Mukesh Ambani has been serving as an IOC member from India since the 2016 Olympics.
Speaking after her re-election, Mrs. Nita M. Ambani said, “I am deeply honored to be re-elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee. I would like to thank President Bach and all my colleagues in the IOC for their faith and trust in me.”
She also connected her election with India’s growing influence, saying, “This re-election is not just a personal milestone but also a recognition of India’s growing influence in the global sporting arena. I share this moment of joy and pride with every Indian.

Nita Ambani as IOC member
The millionaire lady is the first ever woman to become an IOC member from India. She joined the organization in 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Since then Nita Ambani has been representing India in the Olympics.
The IOC has selected Miss Ambani as a member for her significant initiatives for athletes. The Reliance chairperson has done many tremendous jobs to promote sport and the Olympics worldwide. In October 2023, she hosted the first IOC session in Mumbai for over 40 years, which was hailed as showcasing the new, ambitious India to the world.
Additionally, before the Paris Olympics, Nita Ambani established the “India House” for the 2024 Games, a first in history. This will serve as a home away from home for Indian athletes, where they can celebrate their victories, prepare for matches, and more, all in a space sponsored by Nita Ambani.
