RCB vs GT: Bengaluru Can Still Enter the IPL Playoffs

With a victory in RCB vs GT, Bengaluru kept its hopes of entering the playoffs alive. Skipper Faf du Plessis and GOAT Virat Kohli ensured an easy win for RCB against Gujarat Titans.

Don’t know what will happen in the end, but RCB’s game is like this every time. Either they play very well in the beginning and end up messing up, or they start out very badly and end up doing well.

RCB had a very poor start initially this year. Once everyone started thinking that Bengaluru had no chance this year, they bounced back. Though the struggle was not easy for them, they kept their hopes alive by winning the RCB vs GT match.

RCB vs GT Highlights

Bengaluru won the toss at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, and opted to bowl first. The Skipper’s decision to bowl first proved right when Siraj took the early wicket of W Saha. Gujarat was trying to recover from the first blow, but Siraj gave another dent. This time he sent captain Gill back to the pavilion.

RCB controlled the match completely when the last match’s hero, Sai Sudharsan, got out to Green. GT lost its three wickets for a total of 19. Shahrukh Khan and David Miller took charge and built a 61 runs partnership.

However, once the partnership broke, the entire Gujarat team fell apart like a pack of cards. Rashid Khan’s 18 runs took GT to 147 runs in total.

RCB bowling

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s bowling has been problematic in all their losses. However, like in previous games, RCB bowlers showed their form once again in RCB vs GT. Except for Karn Sharma, all bowlers’ economy was truly commendable.

Siraj, Yash Dayal, and Vijay Kumar got two wickets each. Green and Sharma also get one wicket each.

RCB Batting

RCB made a fantastic start with the bat. They were not playing to win the match; they were playing to secure their spot in the playoffs. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis added 92 runs for the first wicket. And they did it in just 5.5 overs.

However, once Faf departed, RCB’s batting lineup spoiled completely. Their wickets started falling one after the other. Although Virat Kohli had controlled one end, at one point, it seemed that RCB would lose the match.

They lost their six wickets in only 25 runs’ addition to the board. However, after the arrival of Dinesh Karthik, RCB’s condition became normal, and they eventually won the match.

GT Bowling

Gujarat bowled well but not at the right time. After setting such a small target, Gujarat needed to take quick wickets. But they were capable of doing so. And when Joshua showed his enthusiasm, Bengaluru reached the threshold of JET.

Joshua took maximum 4 wickets for Gujarat Giants, while Noor got 2. However, even after their efforts Gujarat lost the RCB vs GT match.
