Butterfly Singer and Crazy Town's Shifty Shellshock Dies at 49 

Shifty Shellshock had a history of addiction. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner disclosed the shocking news. 

Another loss of a precious voice and artist has shocked the entire music industry. The music world is mourning the sudden and shocking demise of Shifty Shellshock. The “Butterfly” singer took his last breath at his residence.

Shifty Shellshock, real name Seth Binzer, was very popular among music lovers. However, the singer left the world with his beautiful memories and some commendable songs at the early age of 49.

Crazy Town’s frontman died on Monday, June 24, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s website.

Shifty Shellshock’s cause of death

Some reports suggest that addiction was the cause of Shifty’s death. However, no official data or announcement has come yet to determine the actual cause of his death.

Shellshock had a history of drug and substance addiction. He was caught driving multiple times under the influence of drugs. He spent a significant amount of time on “Celebrity Rehab.”

According to the Economic Times, he was even arrested in 2012 for allegedly possessing cocaine. Some reports suggest that in 2012, Shellshock fell into a coma due to addiction reasons.

Shifty Shellshock’s career

Shifty Shellshock was an American musician and actor best known as the lead vocalist of the rap rock band Crazy Town. The band gained international fame with their 2000 hit single “Butterfly,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Crazy Town’s debut album, “The Gift of Game,” was certified platinum, solidifying their place in the nu-metal and rap-rock scenes.

Beyond his work with Crazy Town, Shifty Shellshock pursued a solo career and released his debut album “Happy Love Sick” in 2004. He also made notable appearances on reality television, participating in shows like “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” and “Sober House,” where he publicly addressed his struggles with addiction. These appearances brought attention to his personal challenges and efforts at recovery.

Despite his ups and downs, Shifty continued to make music, reuniting with Crazy Town for various projects and tours. In 2015, they released their 3rd studio album, “The Brimstone Sluggers.”
