The incident continues to polarize public opinion and generate significant discussion on social media platforms.

The incident took place on July 27 during the opening of the Aider Plateau Protection and Renewal Project, an urban transformation and disaster housing initiative spanning the province.

President Erdogan slapped the boy lightly to prompt him to kiss his hand. After the boy complied and kissed the president’s hand, Erdogan gave him some money.

Now, this entire incident is going viral on social media. People are debating in comments about the Turkish president’s gesture.
