Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Kamal Hasan’s film Kalki 2898 AD has been doing well at the box office. The movie broke several records on the ticket window in its first six days. 

However, it was a high-budget project and a big experiment from the makers. Even after getting a very good start, Kalki has not yet surpassed its cost. Let’s see if it is a hit or flop. 

First Six Days Box Office Performance

“Kalki 2898 AD” has made a significant impact at the box office over its first six days. On its opening day, Thursday, the film grossed ₹95.3 crores in India. The Telugu version led the graph with 65.8 crores, followed by Hindi at ₹22.5 crores, Tamil at ₹4.5 crores, Malayalam at ₹2.2 crores, and Kannada at ₹0.3 crores.

On Friday, the second day, the collections dropped by 37.78% to ₹59.3 crore. The breakdown for this day includes ₹30.55 crore for the Telugu version, ₹23 crore for Hindi, ₹3.3 crore for Tamil, ₹2.1 crore for Malayalam, and ₹0.35 crore for Kannada.

Saturday saw a recovery with an 11.64% increase, reaching ₹66.2 crore. This included ₹32.35 crore for the Telugu version, ₹26 crore for Hindi, ₹5 crore for Tamil, ₹2.4 crore for Malayalam, and ₹0.45 crore for Kannada.

On Sunday, the film’s earnings peaked at ₹88.2 crore, marking a 33.23% rise. The Telugu version contributed ₹38.8 crore, Hindi ₹40 crore, Tamil ₹5.5 crore, Malayalam ₹3.2 crore, and Kannada ₹0.7 crore.

However, Monday’s collections saw a steep decline of 61.28%, falling to ₹34.15 crore. This consisted of ₹14.5 crore for the Telugu version, ₹16.5 crore for Hindi, ₹1.5 crore for Tamil, ₹1.3 crore for Malayalam, and ₹0.35 crore for Kannada.

Tuesday’s earnings continued to decrease, dropping by 18.45% to ₹27.85 crore. The Telugu version brought in ₹11.2 crore, Hindi ₹14 crore, Tamil ₹1.2 crore, Malayalam ₹1.2 crore, and Kannada ₹0.25 crore.

Overall, according to Sac Nilk, “Kalki 2898 AD” has amassed a total of ₹371 crore in its first six days. The Telugu version leads with ₹193.2 crore, followed by Hindi with ₹142 crore, Tamil with ₹21 crore, Malayalam with ₹12.4 crore, and Kannada with ₹2.4 crore.

International Market Success

In addition to its domestic success, the Nag Ashwin film has garnered a gross collection of ₹147 crore overseas in five days. This includes significant contributions from the USA, Canada, Australia, and the UK, where the film performs exceptionally well, particularly in North America.

Future Earnings Projection

The movie peaked on Sunday, and the real decline began on Monday. The average earning decline percentage is about 18%, but for more conservative projections, a 20% decline is considered. Based on this, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to earn around ₹67 crore net in India over the next six days.

The international market is projected to contribute at least ₹23 crore during this period. With these projections, the total earnings of “Kalki 2898 AD” are estimated to reach approximately ₹610+ crore in its first 12 days.

Kalki Hit or Flop

Given that the reported making cost of “Kalki 2898 AD” was ₹600 crore, the movie is expected to be declared a hit by next Monday. Additionally, the film is anticipated to earn further revenue from television and OTT rights.

Overall, with its impressive box office performance and strong future projections, “Kalki 2898 AD,” starring Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, is set to be a high-earning project for the makers.
