Bahsoon, a 22-year-old student at Durham University studying law, is originally from Malaysia. She has a contract with London’s The Hive Management as a working model.
Bahsoon revealed to the BBC that she had initially asked a complete stranger to record her first viral TikTok video, but they had declined. It’s kind of a small rejection that turned out to be quite serendipitous, isn’t it?

For the past few weeks, Bahsoon has been posting videos on her account that are similar to her first viral hit; some of these movies have accumulated well over 15-20 million views each. She has even had special guests feature in a few of her latest videos, including Grammy-nominated musician Omar Apollo and fellow viral TikTok sensation Bella Poarch.
Since then, she has become the global face of the ‘Tube Girl’ phenomenon, with hundreds of people emulating her filming technique and unstoppable confidence on their local trains, trams, and other public areas. In just a few weeks, the hashtag #tubegirl has amassed over 534 million views on the social media platform.
Why is the Tube Girl trend so famous?
Bahsoon appears to have gained more online fans for Bahsoons; it is not necessarily her special or dancing guests, but instead her infectious and unbridled confidence, a confidence to be herself and to be a little crazy in a public space.
“Doing this in public is wild, but I’m tryna get on your level,” one comment, with nearly 13K likes, on that first viral video had read.
Bahsoon recently stated “When I see people imitating it I’m like, ‘Finally, like, people are getting it’. They’re enjoying their commute a little bit better. And I love to see people having fun, so it’s honestly such a heart-warming thing for me.” in a BBC interview.
Why was Fashion Week featuring Tube Girl?
Before her current online stardom via viral TikTok videos, Bahsoon was already signed as a model, but during fashion month, several designers swiftly snapped her up due to her renown. She was present at both the BOSS runway show at Milan Fashion Week and the first-ever runway show for M.A.C. during London Week.
She also went to appearances for cosmetics Fashion companies, such as Glossier and NYX, for which she filmed another classic dancing video on an ice rink.
