Actor Known for his Portrayals in Titanic and Lord of the Rings Dies 

The industry is shocked by the sudden departure of legendary actor Bernard Hill. He played multiple memorable characters in various Hollywood movies including the Lord of the Rings and TV shows. 

Today, an era has ended along with a great artist. Bernard Hill left the world crying at the age of 79. The actor was known for his unforgettable Titanic and the Lord of the Rings characters. He played Captain Edward in the 1997 Oscar-winning movie Titanic and King Theoden in the Lord of the Rings. 

According to the reports and his agent Lou Coulson, Bernard Hill died on Sunday morning at his residence. Reports also indicate that the Lord of the Rings actor was with his son Gabriel and fiance Alison. 

Bernard was born on December 17, 1944, and was an English actor. In addition to the Titanic and Lord of the Rings, he was known for portraying True Crime. He was also famous for his contribution to television for iconic roles like Yosser Hughes in Boys from the Blackstuff. 

Cause of Death

Tributes to the Legend

Many big production houses and industry leaders are giving their tributes to the Lord of the Rings star. The writer of Boys from the Blackstuff shared his words for the actors. He said, “Hill’s death was a great loss and also a great surprise.” 

He further added It was an astonishing, mesmeric performance – Bernard gave everything to that, and you can see it in all the scenes. He became Yosser Hughes.” 

The writer also said some other lines for the actor. “I was desperate to work with him. Everything he did, his whole procedure for working, the manner in which he worked, and his performance was everything that you could ever wish for.”

 Lindsay Salt, director of BBC drama, paid tribute to Bernard, “He (Bernard) blazed a trail across the screen, and his long-lasting career filled with iconic and remarkable roles is a testament to his incredible talent.”
