Angie Harmon, known for her role in “Agent Cody Banks,” accused an Instacart delivery driver of killing her pet dog in a social media post. She also filed an FIR against the delivery van driver for fatally shooting her innocent dog outside her house.

During Easter weekend, Harmon’s family dog, Oliver, was tragically shot dead shortly after a delivery was made to the actress’ home.

While the Instacart delivery person admitted to shooting the dog, he claimed it was an act of self-defense in response to being attacked by the dog.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident that occurred on March 30 to uncover the truth. However, according to officers, no charges have been filed yet. Based on their preliminary investigation, the police believe that the actions of the van driver were acts of self-defense.

Angie Harmon’s social media post 

The actress wrote on her Instagram revealing the unfortunate death of her family dog. She mentioned all the incidents that happened outside her house. 

Angie Harmon wrote in an Instagram post, “This Easter weekend, a man delivering groceries for Instacart shot & killed our precious Oliver. He got out of his car, delivered the food & THEN shot our dog.” 

“Our ring camera was charging in the house, which he saw & then knew he wasn’t being recorded. The police let him go b/c he claimed “self defense”. He did not have a scratch or bite on him nor were his pants torn,” she added. 

Angie Harmon accused the driver, “He was shopping under a woman’s identity named Merle… the pic is on my story. He shot our dog with my daughters & myself at home & just kept saying, “yeah, I shot your dog. Yeah, I did.”

At the end of her message, she also wrote how she and her family are feeling right now, “We are completely traumatized & beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved boy & family member.” 

What did authorities say?

While investigating the case, officers located and spoke to all involved parties. According to the officers, “The investigation revealed that a delivery driver arrived at the residence with consumable goods. The driver said that a dog attacked him while he was at the residence and that he defended himself by firing a single gunshot, striking and mortally wounding the dog.” 

Officers also disclosed that another dog was present at the residence but did not attack.
