India vs England First Test: Day One Highlights

Indian spinners shine in India vs England first test match. England’s strong batting lineup succumbed to the Indian spin attack.

India and England were on the field for the first test match. England got off to a bad start after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Although England got a good start against the Indian pace attack, the spinners gave them big blows one by one.

England’s opening pair performed brilliantly for their team and scored 55 runs without losing wickets. However, England’s innings completely faltered when the spinners came into attack after ten overs.

Ashwin gave the first blow to the England team by sending Deckett back to the dressing room. Before England could heave a sigh of relief, Jadeja gave them another sock. Ollie Pope also returned after losing his wicket to Jadeja.

England lost its second wicket on a total team score of 58 runs. Now, England was trying to make a partnership to score a respectable total for the team. However, Ashwin had some other plans, and he sent Crawly back to the pavilion with a total team score of 60 runs.

Root and Bairstow tried hard to spend some time on the ground, and they also had success, but not for the long term. Axar, another spinner, first sent Bairstow back to the pavilion, and then Jadeja hunted the backbone of England’s batting lineup, Joe Root.
