Indian spinners shine in India vs England first test match. England’s strong batting lineup succumbed to the Indian spin attack.

India and England were on the field for the first test match. England got off to a bad start after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Although England got a good start against the Indian pace attack, the spinners gave them big blows one by one. 

England’s opening pair performed brilliantly for their team and scored 55 runs without losing wickets. However, England’s innings completely faltered when the spinners came into attack after ten overs.

Ashwin gave the first blow to the England team by sending Deckett back to the dressing room. Before England could heave a sigh of relief, Jadeja gave them another sock. Ollie Pope also returned after losing his wicket to Jadeja.

England lost its second wicket on a total team score of 58 runs. Now, England was trying to make a partnership to score a respectable total for the team. However, Ashwin had some other plans, and he sent Crawly back to the pavilion with a total team score of 60 runs. 

Root and Bairstow tried hard to spend some time on the ground, and they also had success, but not for the long term. Axar, another spinner, first sent Bairstow back to the pavilion, and then Jadeja hunted the backbone of England’s batting lineup, Joe Root.

Ben Stokes had a really good game for his team and scored 70 precious runs for England. However, no other batsman supported him today. 

On the first day of the England vs India first test match, England lost all its wickets by only 246 runs. Stokes scored the maximum number of runs for his team. 

Ashwin and Jadeja took 3-3 wickets each. Axar and Bumrah got 2-2 wickets on the very first day of the match. 

India Innings 

India gets a comparatively good start on the first day of the first test match. India has scored 119 runs in the loss of one wicket. Rohit Sharma was the man who lost his wicket on a personal score of 24 runs. Jaiswal and Gill are still there on the ground. Jaiswal is batting on 76 runs, and Gill has scored only 14 runs till now.
