RR vs GT, the 24th IPL 2024 match, occurred at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jodhpur. The home team, Rajasthan Royals, lost the battle after a close clash.  

Highlights 

Rajasthan Royals took on Gujarat Giants in an IPL 2024 match at Jodhpur. With a tremendous knock by skipper Shubman Gill, Gujarat won the RR vs GT match by three wickets. Rashid Khan’s fast 24 runs proved match-winning for Rajasthan in the death overs. 

At Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to bowl first. Jaiswal and Buttler came to open for Rajasthan Royals and gave their team a steady start. However, like most previous matches, Umesh gave RR the first dent after sending Yashsvi back to the dressing room. 

Rajasthan Batting 

Rajasthan lost their first wicket for 32 runs. After facing 18 balls, Jaiswal scored only 24 with 5 boundaries. When RR was trying to recover from the loss of their first wicket, Rashid took second. This time, Buttler returned after scoring only eight runs on ten balls. 

Now, Samson and Riyan took charge. They built a partnership to get out of the initial blows and played with a faster strike. Riyan and Samson took their team to 196 without losing further wickets. 

Umesh Yadav, Rashid Khan, and Mohit Sharma each took one wicket. Rajasthan set a solid target of 197 runs for Gujarat in this RR vs GT match.

Gujarat Batting 

In response to Rajasthan’s 196, Gujarat took a solid start. Openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill gave their team a good start and built a 64-run partnership for the first wicket. Sai Sudharsan departed when GT was on 64 after 8.2 overs. 

After losing the first wicket, Gujarat got the following two players out very early. Matthew Wade scored only four runs after playing six balls. Abhinav Manohar showed an even worse game and scored only one run on two balls. However, Gill kept one end secure. 

Rashid Khan made the RR vs GT match for Gujarat Titans. He played a fast 24 runs inning on just 11 balls. Rashid smashed four classical boundaries in his short but valuable innings. Rahul Tewatia also contributed with 22 runs and 11 balls. 

RR vs GT: Match Heroes 

Sawai Mansingh Stadium witnessed three heroes in today’s RR vs. GT match. Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag, and Shubman Gill entertain fans the most. However, Kuldeep Sen also showed excellent bowling skills. 

Sanju Samson – Samson played a fast but cautious innings of 68 runs. He maintained a 178-plus strike rate while batting against world-class bowlers. Samson smashed two towering sixes in his 68 runs of an impactful innings. 

Riyan Parag—One of the most underrated players of IPL 2024, Riyan Parag performed really well. He scored 76 runs on just 48 balls. However, his strike rate was not very high compared to modern IPL cricket. His cameo with Samson was really impactful. Parag hit five big sixes and three boundaries in his innings. 

Shubman Gill—No matter how well Sanju and Riyan played, Gill’s 72-run innings stole all the limelight. He smashed two sixes and six boundaries to ensure a win for his team.
