RR vs MI: Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal hunted Mumbai Bowlers

Yashasvi Jaiswal shines in an RR vs MI IPL 2024 match. The young Indian player shows his potential by destroying the experienced Mumbai bowling lineup. 

In a thrilling clash between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, Rajasthan emerged victorious in true royal fashion. The match was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, with both teams showcasing contrasting styles of cricket on the same stage. 

Mumbai Indians, usually known for their batting, faced a major setback as their top order struggled to make an impact. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals’ top order came out with all guns blazing, displaying an outstanding performance that had everyone in awe. 

In the end, with a power-packed performance by Jaiswal, Rajasthan won the RR vs MI by nine wickets in hand. 

RR vs MI highlights 

MI captain Hardik Pandya chose to bat first after winning the toss at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. However, like most of his decisions, Pandya’s decision to bat first did not go in their favor. 

Trent Boult gave an initial dent to the powerful batting lineup of Mumbai Indians. MI lost dangerous Rohit Sharma in the very first over when the team and Sharma both were on 6. 

Suryakumar Yadav, affectionately known as SKY, joined forces with Ishan Kishan. However, it seemed Ishan wasn’t quite in sync with Surya’s rhythm today. Kishan soon lost his wicket to Sandeep Sharma in the second over of the MI inning. 

Verma and Yadav were on the crease now. They decided to build a partnership to recover from the initial losses. Tilak Verma started taking his time and that created some pressure on SKY. Surya in an effort to increase the run rate lost his wicket to Sandeep Sharma. 

Mumbai Indians lost its three main wickets on a total of 20 runs. Tilak and Nabi took charge of saving the RR vs MI match for their team. With some powerful shots from Nabi, they built a partnership of about 30 runs. However, Chahal broke the partnership soon by sending Nabi back to the pavilion. 

Nabi scored 23 runs off 17 balls, with one six and two fours. 

Tilak Verma and Nehal Wadhera 

Tilak and Nehal Wadhera, after losing four early wickets, took the positions for MI. They built an almost 100-run partnership with a reasonable strike rate. Both batsmen played fearlessly and smashed towering sixes. 

Nehal scored 49 runs on 24 balls with four sixes and three fours. Although he missed his half-century by one run, his inning was a tonic for MI. Tilak Verma also played a 65 run, which was a crucial inning off 45 balls. His inning was decorated with three sixes and five fours. 

Hardik continued his flop show

Skipper Hardik Pandya continued his flop show against Rajasthan as well. He scored ten runs after facing ten balls. Hardik hit only one four in his short and poor ten run innings.

The rest of the MI batsmen can also make an impact and lose their wickets without reaching a second digit. However, with some good innings from Verma and Wadhera, Mumbai Indians gave RR a 180-run target. 

RR bowling 

Rajasthan impressed the audience with their bowling as well. They took initial wickets to push the power-packed MI team to batfoot. Boult and Sandeep Sharma bowled really well in this RR vs MI match. 

Boult took two important wickets for his team. Sandeep Sharma opened a dream fifer against one of the strongest teams of IPL 2024. 

RR batting 

Rajasthan played totally different from the Mumbai Indians. The opening pair of Jaiswal and Buttler ensured the victory for RR by scoring 70+ runs without losing any wickets. 

RR lost its first wicket in the form of Jos Buttler, 35 off 25 balls. Buttler smashed six classy fours in his short but impactful innings. Skipper Samson joined Jaiswal and took their team to the target without losing more wickets. 

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s batting was the highlight of RR vs MI. He played a fast and sensible innings of 104 runs after facing 60 balls. He smashed seven towering sixes and nine boundaries in his innings. 

Mumbai’s bowling was very poor today. Piyush Chawla was the only successful bowler who got the highest wicket for his team. 

Match Heroes 

Tilak Verma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sandeep Sharma are the heroes of RR vs MI match. They portrayed their roles honestly and with one hundred percent hard work. 

Tilak Verma – Tilak played a 65 runs crucial innings for Mumbai Indians. If Tilak’s innings had not come for Mumbai then even this score would not have been made. Tilak has won the title of hero of today’s match for saving Mumbai from a disrespectful defeat. 

Yashasvi Jaiswal – No matter how many runs or wickets you took in a match. If your efforts do not convert into a victory, your efforts have no means. Jaiswal not only played a fantastic inning for his team but also secured the victory. 

Sandeep Sharma – Young Sandeep also deserves some respect for his efforts today’s efforts. However some of his wickets were luck by chance, he took five wickets in a cricket format where nothing is for bowlers.
