80s star Marla Adams passes away at the age of 85 years. Marla was known for her iconic portrayal of Dina Abbott Mergeron in “The Young and the Restless.” 

Marla Adams, known for her iconic portrayal of Dina Abbott Mergeron, passes away. She took her last breath on Thursday in Los Angeles. However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet. Sources suggest that it was a natural death. 

In a statement shared with People, Josh Griffith, the executive producer and head writer of The Young and the Restless, paid tribute to Marla, remembering her as a talent who left an unforgettable mark on the soap opera, invoking a sense of respect and admiration for her work. 

Josh stated, “On behalf of the entire company of The Young and Restlesswe send our deepest sympathies to Marla’s family.” 

The head writer of the soap opera fondly recalled Marla’s contributions as Dina Abbott. “We are deeply grateful and in awe of Marla’s extraordinary performance as Dina Mergeron. Both Marla and Dina have left an indelible mark on Y&R,” he added, emphasizing the profound impact she had on the show. 

Marla Adams career 

Marla Adam embarked on her journey in the world of drama in 1968 in “The Secret Storm.” She played Belle Clemens in The Secret Storm. Prior to this, she honed her acting skills in local theater productions and even dabbled in modeling, which eventually led her to the world of television. 

Marla also participated in many popular pageant competitions before becoming a part of The Young and Restless. Not only participated, she also won some big titles like Miss Ocean City and Miss Cape May. 

Despite participating in pageant competitions and working in The Secret Storm, Marla Adams got main recognition from Y&R. She worked in the show for 37 years and left an indelible mark on Y&R. 

For her full-time acting in The Young and the Restless, she got an Emmy nomination in 2018. However, she did not get an award that year. In 2021, the show received an Emmy for the performance of Marla.
