Last Sunday, Iran’s President and Foreign Minister became victims of a helicopter crash. Some sources have claimed the death of Ibrahim Raisi after the rescue operation that continued for 18 hours.
Many media channels, including Reuters, have also covered the death of the President and his aides. However, no one has yet found concrete evidence to confirm the death.
However, world leaders have now started sharing their deepest condolences to the people of Iran and the Ebrahim Raisi family. India, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, and some other nations have shared their thoughts on the Helicopter crash.
World’s reactions to Iranian President’s death
Pakistan
Pakistan was the first country to express concern over the helicopter crash in Iran. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote on X, “Heard the distressing news from Iran regarding Hon. President Seyed Ibrahim Raisi’s helicopter. Waiting with great anxiety for good news that all is well. Our prayers and best wishes are with Hon.President Raisi and the entire Iranian nation.“
India
Another Asian leader, Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, also expressed his condolences to Iran and Raisi’s family. Mr. Modi said, “We are deeply concerned by reports regarding President Raisi’s helicopter flight today. We stand in solidarity with the Iranian people in this hour of distress and pray for the well-being of the President and his entourage.”
Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan’s President also expressed his sympathy to the President and his near and dear ones. He posted on X, “Today, after bidding a friendly farewell to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, we were profoundly troubled by the news of a helicopter carrying the top delegation crash-landing in Iran. Our prayers to Allah Almighty are with President Ebrahim Raisi and the accompanying delegation. As a neighbor, friend, and brotherly country, the Republic of Azerbaijan stands ready to offer any assistance.”
Gulf Kingdom
Even the long-time rivals of Iran, the Gulf Kingdom, also prayed for Iran and promised to the nation in adverse conditions. Their foreign ministry said, “We affirm that the Kingdom stands by the sisterly Islamic Republic of Iran in these difficult circumstances and its readiness to provide any assistance that the Iranian agencies need.”
US
In addition, US President Biden cut short his vacation and took an urgent meeting at the White House. According to the US leaders, President Raisi has been assassinated.
Turkey
In this hour of grief, the President of Türkiye was also seen standing with Iran. He promised to provide all necessary assistance to Iran.
