Another heartbreaking update has arrived from the popular Southern rock band Blackberry Smoke that Brit Turner is no more.
The band has announced the tragic news on social media. According to a report by Variety, Turner was suffering from glioblastoma, a kind of brain cancer, and had surgery for the aggressive condition in November 2022.
Despite medications and treatments, Britt Turner continued to play on the group tour until December 2023. Before leaving this world, he gave a lot of his love and memories to the band and its followers.
Official confirmation of Brit Turner’s death
The Blackberry Smoke group itself confirmed the tragic death of Brit Turner. The band wrote on social media, “It is with the deepest sorrow that we inform everyone that our brother Brit Turner has moved on from this life. If you had the privilege of knowing Brit on any level, you know he was the most caring, empathetic, driven, and endearing person one could ever hope to meet.”
They added, “Brit was Blackberry Smoke’s true north, the compass that instituted the ideology that will continue to guide this band.” They also mentioned the cause of death, “Brit has battled glioblastoma since his diagnosis in the fall of 2022 and fought every day. We ask for prayers for his family and band brothers.”
They also wrote, “More information on arrangements will be forthcoming. Thank you to everyone who has supported and been there for Brit and his family through this fight.”

What is glioblastoma?
As per Pinkvilla, glioblastoma, popularly known as a grade IV astrocytoma, is a kind of dangerous brain tumor. This tumor generally occurs in the brain and invades nearby tissues. However, it does not spread to the other parts of the body.
It is a dangerous tumor that causes death in most cases. If left untreated, glioblastoma causes death within six months.
