India Vs South Africa 3rd ODI: India Won the Match and Series

India vs South Africa 3rd ODI was an interesting match to watch. Both the teams were playing to capture the series for their country. 

After South Africa’s victory in the second ODI, the series was tied at one win each for India and RSA. This made the third ODI between India and South Africa a decisive match. Both teams needed a win in the third ODI to claim the series. However, with the support of Sanju’s century, visiting India won the series.

India vs South Africa 3rd ODI Full Highlights

Once again, South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl first. Rajat Patidar and Sai Sudharshan opened the innings for India. Unfortunately, their contributions were limited as they lost their wickets early in the match. However, Sanju Samson held one end while wickets kept falling at regular intervals from the other end.

Sanju achieved a remarkable feat for the team by scoring his maiden ODI century with a courageous innings of 108 runs. Tilak Verma played a half-century innings, while Rinku Singh played a supporting role by playing a quick inning of 38 runs. With their collective efforts, India finished their innings with a total of 296 runs in 50 overs.

In response, the entire South African team collapsed on a total score of 218 runs. Tony De Zorzi played a quick and important innings for RSA and scored a total of 81 runs. Captain Aiden Markram also contributed 36 runs, although his innings did not prove to be enough to win the match. 

Arshdeep Singh once again proved to be important and destroyed the South African lineup by taking five wickets for the team. Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar also contributed, each with two wickets in their account. 

South Africa lost all their wickets in  45.5 overs and a total score of 218 runs. India won the match by 78 runs. 

Stars of the Match

Arshdeep Singh, Sanju Samson and Tony de Zorzi were the stars of India vs South Africa 3rd ODI. Arshdeep picked 5 wicket haul for his team while Sanju Samson scored a tremendous hundred. South African de Zorzi also played a crucial knock for his team. However, even after Zorzi’s innings, Africa did not win the match.
