Australia’s World Cup-winning captain, Pat Cummins, crossed the mark of ₹20 crores in this IPL auction 2024. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought the Australian right-arm fast bowler with a total investment of 20.50 crores. Pat Cummins was the highest-paid player in IPL auction 2024 until his teammate Mitchel Starc got sold.
Gautam Gambhir made the highest bid for Mitchell Starc in IPL 2024 and bought him for a handsome amount. Mitchell received ₹24.75 crore to join Kolkata Knight Riders, the highest bid for IPL 2024. However, players like Josh Hezelwood and Steve Smith went unsold this time.
In addition, certain other players also received good amounts to play the IPL season 17. Daryl Mitchell got ₹14 crore to play for Chennai Super Kings under the supervision of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. PBKS acquired Indian pacer Harshal Patel at ₹11.75 crore, and RCB bought Alzarri Joseph at ₹11.50 crore. Indian uncapped players like Shahrukh Khan, Shubham Dubey, and Sameer Rizvi also get rewarded in the auction. CSK bought Sameer by providing him with a total of ₹8.40, and RR spent ₹5.8 crore for Dubey. At the same time, Gujarat Titans bid ₹7.40 crore for Shahrukh Khan.
