The major cause of his death
The son of Sinéad O’Connor committed suicide in January 2022. The teenager’s body was discovered in a suburb of Dublin. A few days after O’Connor reported being missing, the body was discovered. The boy was only 17 years old at the time.

It took several days for his body to be found. During the time, O’Connor paid tribute to her son on social media, writing, “My beautiful son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, the very light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God.”

The relationship between O’Connor and Shane was very close to her son. Shane had a well-established history of mental health problems before his passing. It is said that at the age of 14, he vanished from existence. O’Connor made a request for his return on Facebook at that time. Additionally, the singer spoke up about her own struggles with mental health. She went to the hospital on her own after Shane passed away.
Day after day following Shane’s death, she continued to tweet troubling things. Her hospital stay was ultimately caused by this. The mother of the deceased posted, “There is no point living without him.”
