Ramaswamy also founded a pharmaceutical company, Roivant Sciences, in 2014. Last year, he declared his candidacy for the Republican Party nomination. 

His roots belong to India as his parents are Indian immigrants. Ramaswamy graduated from Harvard College with a bachelor’s degree. Vivek also gained a law degree from Yale Law School.

Ramaswamy registered himself to vote in Franklin County, Ohio, as unaffiliated. However, he described himself as a republican. Earlier, he supported both Democrats and Republicans. In 2016, Vivek donated $2,700 to Dena Grayson, a Democratic party member. In addition, he funded the Ohio Republican Party with $30,000 from 2020 to 2023. 

Ramaswamy declared his candidacy for the 2024 United States presidential elections in February 2023. According to the media reports, Ramaswamy got his political motivation from Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 presidential elections.
