One day, three innings, and 23 wickets, the first day of India vs South Africa second test highlights are just like thrill. The day one of the second test match was completely dedicated to the Indian and South African bowlers. 

The second cricket test match between India and South Africa is currently in progress. The first day of the match has now concluded with a lot of thrill and excitement. It was a day for bowlers from both India and South Africa. 

Second India vs South Africa test Highlights

Firstly, Indian pacer Mohammad Siraj stunned the South African batting lineup with his great bowling efforts. Siraj picked up a total of six wickets for his team, while Bumrah and Mukesh assisted him by taking two wickets each. The strong bowling performance by Indian bowlers booked the entire first inning of South Africa with a total score of 55 runs. 

India first innings 

However, the South African bowlers also responded well and did not allow India to do much in the first innings. India lost all its wickets on a total score of only 153 runs, which was a good total in comparison to South Africa’s 55 runs. However, it was not as good as expected, and India took only 98 runs lead. 

Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, and Nandre Berger picked three wickets each, preventing India from taking a strong lead. However, India’s highest wicket-taker, Mohammad Siraj, lost his wicket in the form of a run-out in the second India vs. South Africa test match. 

Virat Kohli scored a maximum of 46 runs for the team. Captain Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill also contributed to the team by scoring 39 and 36 runs, respectively. Seven Indian batsmen didn’t even score a run and threw their wickets on 0. Apart from Rohit, Gill, and Kohli, KL Rahul was the only batsman who managed to score some runs. 

South Africa’s second innings: second test highlights

After the end of the Indian innings, South Africa again came to bat on the very first day of the second test. South Africa took a steady start to keep the match and their hopes alive. However, their efforts did not last long, and Mukesh gave them the first blow. 

On a total score of 37 runs, Mukesh got the wicket of Dean Elgar, who was playing his last match today. Elgar returned to the pavilion with a total personal score of 12 runs. Dangerous man De Zorzi could not do much today and gave his wicket to Mukesh. 

The leader, Jasprit Bumrah, gave South Africa the last blow of the day and picked the wicket of Stubbs. Tristan Stubbs lost his wicket after scoring only one run. 

Aiden Markran and David Bedingham were on the ground till the time of stumps. Markram has scored 36 runs till now, and David is playing on a total score of 7 runs. South Africa scored 62 runs in their second innings before the stumps. India also has a lead of 36 runs.
