The US cricket team defeated the strong Bangladesh cricket team twice in a row in the series of 3 T20Is. The United States won today’s cricket match by six runs against the powerful Asian cricket squad.
The United States cricket team is not as popular as football, volleyball, or soccer in the US. However, the youngsters in the newly built team have no concerns about this. They are giving their best regardless of any big name, fame, or money.
The US cricket team won spectacularly against the strong Asian cricket team, Bangladesh. While playing the second match of the three-match T-20 series against Bangladesh, America scored a poor 144 runs.
Initially, it seemed to be an easy target for Bangladeshi cricketers. However, the bowling department turned it into a stern chase and restricted the opponent to just 138 runs. Ali Khan shined in the US cricket team’s victory.
With the victory against Bangladesh, the US team has geared up for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Their second consecutive win is undoubtedly alarming for the rest of the teams participating in the World Cup.
Although the US cricket team’s achievement is not enough to challenge big teams like India, England, and Australia, it will definitely boost their morale in the upcoming tournament.
US vs Bangladesh Highlights
The US cricket team played Bangladesh on Thursday, May 23, at Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston. The visitors won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Steven Taylor and Monank Patel gave a good start. They added 44 runs without losing any wickets. However, Steven fell after scoring 31 on 28 balls. He smashed two glorious sixes and three boundaries.
The new man, Andries, went back to the dressing room without scoring any runs. Patel secured one end till the 19th over. However, no batsmen, except Aaron Jones, supported him well. Aaron played a 35-run knock, and Monank scored 42 runs with one six and four fours.
The US cricket team set a target of 145 runs for Bangladesh after playing all 20 overs.
Bangladesh Batting
The target looked tiny before Bangladesh’s batting started. However, Bangladesh lost its first and most important wicket as soon as they began batting. Saumya Sarkar lost his wicket without scoring any runs in the very first over.
Tanzid Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto tried to build a partnership to recover from the initial blow. But Jessy Singh gave another dent to the Asian cricket team’s batting lineup by picking up Hasan’s wicket.
Bangladesh lost wickets at regular intervals and, in the end, lost the match by six runs. Skipper Shanto scored a maximum of 36 for his team.
Ali Khan took a maximum of 3 wickets for the US team. On the other hand, Islam, Tanzim Hasan, and Rishad Hossain took two wickets each for Bangladesh.
